Dort was set to make $17.7MM this season. On the one hand, Peyton Watson’s squeeze could give the Thunder reason to hold the line on a lower number as Wallace watches a version of what could be his own disappointing future play out. On the other hand, Denver is in a precarious position."

- John Schuhmann has OKC #2 in the NBA.com Power Rankings: "The Thunder have had the league’s top-ranked bench (by wide margins) in each of the last two seasons. But they’ve just salary-dumped guys who ranked second, fifth and sixth on the team in total minutes over those two years. Both Ajay Mitchell and Cason Wallace appear ready for bigger roles, but Gilgeous-Alexander probably won’t be the only Thunder player averaging at least 30 minutes this season, and it’ll be tougher to be extra cautious with Alex Caruso’s playing time."
