Thunder Weekly: Dreaming of October
The season ahead for Oklahoma City, plus the latest Thunder news and links.
On the Radar:
No real basketball till October, but at least we know the regular schedule now.
Stay tuned for a special edition of Russ bolts next week.
A brief personal note: It's been an extremely busy professional season for us (Cray and John). A slowdown in content during the drip-feed of NBA/Thunder action in August was inevitable, but things will pick back up on both fronts. While we both have careers and a family to mind, Daily Thunder is still our baby. Thank you for continuing to follow, read, comment, and support our humble blog.
Thunder Bolts
- ICYMI @ Daily Thunder: Saturday Morning Cartoons: Russ vs. Rocky... Russell Westbrook Retires.
- The schedule is out.
- They'll play on national TV 30 times.
- OKC confirmed that a local TV/streaming options will be available for fans to watch this year. (This is a good sign, although details are still TBA.)
- On opening night: the Spurs rivalry continues. I, for one, am hyped.

- The Suave Report ranks OKC’s 10 must-watch games on the schedule.
- The back to backs ain't too tough on paper:

- A day after celebrating Isaiah Hartenstein's return to the German national team for his first international competition since 2018, the club announced that an ankle injury will keep him out of their two qualifying games next week. He'll stay with the team, still likely to qualify for the 2027 World cup without him on the court.
- Ajay Mitchell has been named UC Santa Barbara’s GM. Let the recruitment wars between Mitchell and Trae Young (OU's assistant GM) commence.
- I will not be participating in the Chet's body social media wars.
