Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been announced as the NBA's Clutch Player of the Year for the 2025-26 season. A no-brainer for the honor, SGA guided Oklahoma City to the 1-seed with unstoppable scoring and defensive playmaking down the stretch of several close Thunder wins. When he wasn't resting during fourth quarter blowouts, Shai was putting together an impeccable body of winning time work:

  • 175 points (#1)
  • 51.5 FG%/ 35.1 3PT% /85.3 FT%
  • 16 rebounds / 21 assists / 7 turnovers
  • +93 in 125 minutes
  • Record: 20-7

In addition to dozens of weekly, monthly, and community awards, Shai's NBA trophy case is filling up:

  • 1x MVP
  • 3x All-NBA First Team
  • 4x All-Star
  • All-Rookie Second Team
  • 1x Scoring Title
  • 1x Steals Leader
  • 1x Western Conference Finals MVP
  • 1x Finals MVP
  • 1x NBA Championship

SGA is a shoo-in to win another MVP and make another All-NBA First Team for the 2025-26 season, and he's also a finalist for Sportsmanship of the Year.

In addition to defending their title this postseason, the Thunder are up for more regular season recognition as well. Chet Holmgren was a Defensive Player of the Year finalist (Victory Wembanyama won), and Jaylin Williams is a finalist for Teammate of the Year.
