Fair and square. The Spurs earned their way to the NBA Finals, ending the Thunder's quest for a title repeat. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander showed up in a huge way, scoring 35 points on shots, and assisting on 22 more Thunder points. Victor Wembanyama was good overall (22 pts, 7 rbs) and impactful roaming the paint, but his teammates deserve just as much credit as they outmuscled, ousmarted, and outshot most of OKC's players in enemy territory.

Chet Holmgren (4 pts, 4 rbs, 4 stocks, 3 tov) had his worst game of the season, and will get most of the blame for how Oklahoma City came up short against his counterpart and San Antonio in Game 7. The rest of the championship roster made contributions, but outside of Cason Wallace and Jaylin Williams–who started the second half–no one went off or swung the momentum fully OKC's way after the starters yet again dug a hole to open the first quarter.

The Thunder will be back, and we'll cover the long, tough road it will take to get there through the offseason and beyond. But the season ends with the champs failing to advance without Jalen Williams when given the chance. The sting of that failure won't go away anytime soon for the team and its fanbase.
