Part Two of Paul George’s Three-Part ESPN Free Agency Series

Part two of Paul George’s three-part SportsCenter series aired on tonight’s 5:00 PM CT broadcast. In it, George discusses his love for Los Angeles, his upcoming contract, his off-court interests, and more.

A few thoughts:

  1. The first three words out of PG’s mouth are “I love L.A.” and the California lovefest was just getting started. He talks about how he pictured himself in a Lakers jersey when he was a kid, watching Kobe, the pride of representing your hometown, etc. The first 45 seconds are essentially his love letter to Los Angeles — but I get it. I often discuss El Reno, OK, the exact same way. Similar locations when you really stop and think about it.
  2. PG’s agent says OKC probably wouldn’t have gotten a free agency meeting if George had never been traded to the Thunder last summer. So, there’s that.
  3. Sam Presti quotes A Tribe Called Quest. Seriously. Sammy P dropped the “Scared money don’t make none” line and I don’t know what’s real anymore.
  4. He chats with Dwyane Wade about making the decision that’s best for him. They’re drinking wine because of course they are.

Anyway — it’s an interesting 7 minutes. Give it a watch.

Part three will air next week after he makes his decision.
