This will be OKC's next-to-last game, as they are winless and will not qualify for the Summer League final tournament rounds. Aday Mara (OKC's #12 pick) and Bennett Stirtz (#16) are the headliners for OKC, and their play has been about as expected. Mara is a smart offensive player with a knack for finding teammates with the pass and finding his way to the rim in space or from the post. His conditioning and physicality are pretty woeful, as Jeremy Lin harped on last game's broadcast. Stirtz isn't wowing anyone with athleticism or force, but he's skilled as a ball handler and shooter, and heady enough to survive on defense. The two have looked best when running two-man action together in the half-court.
The Thunder will get one more game (yet to be scheduled) after the Mavericks before their summer exhibition play comes to an end. We'll then be left to watch the other picks we fell in love with during draft season, trying to remember that Summer League doesn't prove that OKC got the wrong guy as the other prospects light up the tournament. The one that got away matching up with OKC today: Morez Johnson Jr.
