Shai, JDub, Chet, and checks notes Aday Mara came to play, punking Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs in San Antonio to open the season with a win. SGA scored 28 points before Wemby (12 points, 13 reb, 6 blk on 1-13 FG) made his first field goal, finishing firmly entrenched in the Best Player in the World slot with 32 points, 4 assists, and 2 blocks on 13-27 shooting. Jared McCain (20 points, 6-8 3pa) led a barrage of Thunder threes to tilt a defensive slugfest into a comfortable Oklahoma City victory. While the Western Conference Finals rematch didn't stay particularly close, it was still an explosive, chippy contest between two awesome teams that hate each other's guts.

One down, 81 to go. Stay tuned for more coverage as the first week of the season unfolds.
