Postgame Bolts
- OKC’s 2026 Native American inspired City Edition jerseys and court is a sharp playoff combo.
- Game 1: Lakers jumped out to a 7-0 lead.
Game 2: Thunder jump out to a 7-0 lead. - OKC crowd was fully engaged from the tip. Lots of energy and lots of decibels the entire game.
- One of the best sequences of the game: Alex Caruso had a slick behind-the-back no-look bounce pass to Jaylin Williams.
JWill splashed a 3.
Austin Reaves turnover on the other end led to an SGA fast break dunk.
Huge pop from Loud City. - After that sequence, the Thunder PA announcer said there was a technical on the Lakers, but it was so loud in The Paycom Center that I couldn't hear why.
- SGA took a lot of contact on a drive to the rim and got knocked to the court.
Foul on SGA. - Loud City loves them some Jared McCain 3s. So there was a lot to love in Game 2.
- It's incredible that Ajay Mitchell was the #38 overall pick less than 2 years ago. Now he's shining in a series sharing the floor with a soon-to-be 2-time MVP, a 4-time MVP and another All-Star.
- A lot going on with that SGA/Austin Reaves play to open the 2nd half.
Offensive foul on SGA. That was his 4th.
It was reviewed for a flagrant.
Daigneault challenged the foul.
Tech on Alex Caruso from the bench.
OKC lost the challenge.
SGA had to go to the bench.
And somehow this ignited OKC's biggest run of the night and turned around the game. - 3 of SGA's fouls were offensive.
- Refs may be watching too many Jaylen Brown streams.
- I saw Rui Hachimura miss a 3-pointer. Didn't know that was possible.
- Jared McCain scored 12 points and hit 4-5 from 3 in Game 1.
Jared McCain scored 18 points and hit 4-5 from 3 in Game 2. - Through 2 games, the entire Lakers bench is outscoring Jared McCain by a total of 35-30.
- Jaylin Williams hit a 3 plus an and-1 to make it a 4-point play. OKC crowd got LOUD. Sounded like a Nebraska Cornhuskers game.
- In a competitive Round 2 playoff game, OKC's leading scorers with 10 minutes to go in the 4th quarter were Ajay Mitchell and Jared McCain.
- Really impressive games from the two sophomores.
- Scary moment when SGA drove and got hooked by Austin Reaves and kind of helicoptered to the ground. No flagrant on Reaves after review.
- I have no idea what a flagrant is anymore.
- Chet Holmgren has been the best player so far in this series. Elite defense on one end. Highly efficient #2 scoring option on the other end.
- Chet had 22 points on 7-11 shooting including 3-5 from deep, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals and 2 blocks.
- This game will go down in the record books for the longest jump ball set up of all time.
- SGA blocked LeBron James at the rim on one end and hit a 3 at the other end. Not many point guards who can pull that off.
- Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has scored 20+ points in 1 straight playoff game. The bit starts anew.
- SGA scored 22 points on 7-13 shooting. The Lakers are doubling him on every possession. SGA makes the right play every time. So while his scoring may not be up to his usual standards, he's using his gravity and trusting his teammates to score. It's working
- Nikola Topic scored his first career playoff points on a nice contested drive to the rim. And apparently the broadcast crew could have used a pronunciation guide for his name.
- OKC takes a 2-0 lead in Round 2. 6-0 in the playoffs.
- Next up: Game 3 in LA on Saturday night on ABC.
