Thunder Select Devon Hall & Kevin Hervey in 2018 NBA Draft

With picks 53 and 57 in the second round of Thursday night’s NBA Draft, the Oklahoma City Thunder selected shooting guard Devon Hall out of Virginia and small forward Kevin Hervey from UT Arlington. Nothing wild — just two prospects that will hopefully develop into something useful down the line.

Some more on the newest members of the Thunder organization:

(53) Devon Hall, SG, Virginia

Age: 22

Height: 6-5

Weight: 211

2017-18 Stats: 11.7 PPG, 4.2 RPG, 3.1 APG, 43.2% 3P

Thoughts: Good shooter (43.2 percent from three on nearly four attempts per game last season) and an above-average defender. Not a guy that should be expected to go out and score a lot of points and he’s not a tremendous athlete. Hall will likely see a lot of time with the Oklahoma City Blue, but his age leads one to believe that he lacks a tremendous amount of upside.

Highlights:

(57) Kevin Hervey, SF, UT Arlington

Age: 21

Height: 6-9

Weight: 230

2017-18 Stats: 20.5 PPG, 8.5 RPG, 1.2 SPG, 33.9% 3P

Thoughts: UTA’s all-time leading rebounder and second-leading scorer. Led the team in scoring in each of the last three seasons, but is a bit injury prone. He tore both ACL’s in college — likely leading to his late selection. Can shoot from anywhere and score at-will when healthy. With a 7-3 wingspan and an ability to space the floor, he’s an interesting project for Sam Presti and the Thunder. I don’t hate it at 57.
