Game 2 Rapid Recap: Rockets def. Thunder 111-98

Game 2 was a much stronger start compared to the last time the Thunder met the Rockets on the hardwood. The return of Lu Dort also welcomed a familiar OKC team that is balanced defensively, passes the ball, and strategically takes advantage of their opponents weaknesses. Yet, even with Russell Westbrook sitting out and James Harden shooting just 31.3%, the Thunder still met defeat at the end of the game.

While the first half was strong and OKC was ahead at halftime, the 3rd quarter is where the sloppiness seen in Game 1 returned. Too much isolation allowed for Houston to find their flow and surprisingly, their defense is what dominated. Losing the first two games in the Playoffs doesn’t feel good but the hope is that the Thunder will figure out how to use the Bubble home court advantage to their benefit in the next two.
