The Seattle Sonics may have been bought with stolen money. Got that story from this moths Forbes Magazine. Google, Aubrey McClendon 1.1 billion... that is the amount of money missing, starting three years ago. Not a rumor SEC is now talking to Aubrey.

I'm helping to produce a small booklet of writing about the Olympics, and wanted to ask about copyright for your Usain Bolt photo. We'd want to use a small version, roughly a quarter of an A5 page, in a booklet of which we'll be printing 200 copies. Would we have to pay for coyright, and if so, how much? with thanks, Paul Francis. .
Hey Royce, got a quick legitimate question. Is Russell Westbrook the most valuable player in the NBA right now? I know he get's a lot of turnovers, but I feel like if he missed significant amount of games this year he would be missed more than anyone in the league. He fills the stat sheet as well as LeBron and hes a lot smaller. He also earns every thing on his stat line, in other word, every rebound, steal, assist, and point he gets come during meaningful parts of the game. And I would have to think so far this week, that he is the front runner for winning the Western Conference Player of the Week
Hey Royce, I'm a longtime reader. I'm going watch the OKC at New Jersey game tomorrow. I was wondering if you had any tips on how to best represent and cheer for the Thunder out of town, especially when I'll be in the vast minority of Thunder fans in the Prudential Center. Follow etiquette and stay silent or throw etiquette out and be even louder? The situation makes me wish I'd bought a beard shirt earlier. Other than that, keep doing what you do!
Lakers are the best! :D

Hey I know its not through the treeandleaf website, but I found some great Thunder shirts on ebay.. This being my clearcut favorite: http://cgi.ebay.com/THUNDER-FAN-BASKETBALL-IQ-OKLAHOMA-CITY-SHIRT-jersey-/200474781547?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&var=&hash=item746a967d98
Say what you will about the absolute decay of this franchise and controversial move to the City, but this young core of players is primed for a breakout in the near future. Kevin Durant, in his sophomore season, is #6 in the League in scoring and shooting 47% from the field and 43% from downtown. This is way up from the 43% and 29% from last year. He is easily a candidate for the All-Star team this year. Now while Durant raised his scoring average by 4ppg this year, Jeff Green has emerged as a solid #2 by increasing his ppg by almost 6 from 10.5 to 16.4. He is also tied for the team lead in boards with Durant while raising all of his percentages. And finally we have the emergence of rookie Russell Westbrook from UCLA who came out of nowhere to be drafted high, started out slow, but now has thrown his name in to the hat for ROY consideration. While he is only shooting 41% from the field, he still manages to put of 14.5 ppg and since supplanting Earl Watson in the starting lineup has seen his assists climb near 5. He is also top 20 in steals (#2 amongst rookies behind Mario Chalmers).

'Interestingly enough it took the youngest team in the league and the No. 8 seeded Oklahoma City Thunder to force the veteran laden Lakers get out of their comfort zone and understand they couldn't continue playing the way they were if they wanted to win it all this year.
"Oklahoma really, really prepared us," said Andrew Bynum, who continues to battle through a slight tear in his lateral meniscus, scoring 4 points in 19 minutes. "That was a great young team that we faced. They have super speed and Kevin Durant is a great scorer and they presented a tough defense against us. They were one of the first teams to front the post and we couldn't get the ball inside and they were making all the good rotations. Give them credit they definitely prepared us for what was to come."
Getting past the Thunder for the Lakers was like finding a way to beat Usain Bolt in the preliminary round. They weren't going to face a faster, more athletic team the rest of the way. If Derek Fisher could keep up with Russell Westbrook and if Ron Artest could slow down Kevin Durant, they were going to be just fine against anyone else left in the postseason.
"Oklahoma really pushed the tempo and we really had to get used to that," Bynum said. "Since then everyone is like a step slower."'

I've been writing about this for a while. I think the media are finally picking up on this. I think he's the perfect fit there, he's close to home and paired with Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, he'd have a great chance of winning a title. Some people tell me he won't do it because he doesn't want to play second fiddle to KD. But if that's the case, he isn't joining LeBron or Wade either.
Is it true that the DailyThunder will have a live stream feed of the game tonight. I am stuck at a wedding with no cable TV but we have a computer! HELP!!
Royce,
Just saw the article about you in the Oklahoma Gazette. this is a great blog man. Real happy for you and glad to see you're doing so great. Good luck and see you around.
Does anyone know if they sell this shirt westbrook is wearing? http://www.dailythunder.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/Picture-23.png
I have scoured the net and have been unsuccessful, I'm hoping ive just been looking in the wrong places.
Royce-- You said about 14 months ago that Thunder basketball couldn't compete with big 12 football for the hearts and minds of Oklahomans?
After what you saw last night are you sticking to that?
Yes, it's shameless promotion, but I thought ya'll might in enjoy this piece on Westbrook, Durant, and their pursuit of the Lakers. It's fictional, but it's rooted in reality.

Glad to see you are enjoying the team I grew up watching that was stolen from me along with some of the happiest memories of my childhood. Keep smiling... some day David Stern or some other evil moron like him will break your heart too.
Hi Royce Young or whoever does this thing, I have a request: How about something like a blog entry after each night regarding our opponents for a playoff seed?. Forget abot reaching the playoffs, thing BIG,think about playoff enemies and conference finals!
Here is a great article about the Thunder's age vs. their chance to win ship

Just wrote a piece on Kevin Durant for my blog.
Check it out! http://leftyslook.com/2010/02/19/kevin-durant-hes-that-good/
This may not be the right place, but can someone upload the video for when KD was shooting his free throws and the crowd was chanting "M-V-P!"? I really wanna see that. Thanks if anyone can!
Another sign we have arrived as a quality team, on By the Horns (the Bulls TrueHoop blog) Matt McHale wrote yesterday, "The schedule won’t be in Chicago’s favor for long though. The Bulls now face a stretch where they play 10 of their next 12 games on the road, and they will face the Celtics, Suns, Rockets, Spurs, Thunder, and Hawks in that span. It’s going to be rough. Maybe even very rough."
Who would have thought before the season that the Thunder would be used with that group when saying how tough an upcoming schedule would be?
Ya'll should push tree and leaf clothing to do some cool Thunder beanies. Specifically the Ski beanies that come over your ears, or at least some old school ones with puff balls on the top. Just a suggestion.
Go Thunder
Hey,
I didn't get to catch the game last night. good thing, huh? However, Harden had a pretty good game. I was wondering if you might be willing to do a play by play break down of him like you did for the game against Detroit where he had 5 assists in the second quarter?
Ryan
Hey guys -
Great site. Love the layout and the commentary. Although I live in NY and follow the Knicks, the Thunder are like my second team. Quick question for you. I've got a blog called Above the Rim and I'm looking to improve the quality of the site. Who did your design? Can you recommend anyone?
Shouts out to Royce for his good words about my Portland Trailblazers !
I feel the same way about my Blazers. They are a terrific young team.
And,that's why I Love your team !
I adore Kevin,we came thisclose to having him as a Blazer. I just know he will be a superstar
for years to come. I will always be a fan of your team. You have players to be proud of on and off
the court. I love your uniforms, they are sharp and sharp players wearing them. I love your logo also !
I can hardly wait for the season to start !
Hey Royce,
Just wanted to say how much I LOVE Daily Thunder. As a college kid who saw his first Thunder game in person when Lebron came to OKC in December, I have really fallen in love with everything about this team. It is a little harder for me to follow them, because I am from Kansas City and go to school at KU. But I check Daily Thunder everyday as my #1 source for Thunder news and analysis. I love your commentary and insight on the team and I can't wait for this fall for the new season and your posts. I also wanted to point out that you post a lot more than some of the other TrueHoop blogs, which makes a huge difference when frequenting your favorite blogs everyday. Anyways, I appreciate your hard work and dedication, and just know that us up in KC do appreciate your website. Please keep up the posts and good work.
All the Best,
Todd Brown
I just came across this BLOG and wanted to comment that I like it alot. As a native Oklahoman, I have become struck with ALL things Thunder and this is a perfect forum to discuss ongoing Thunder topics. Thanks for providing the forum
@soundguy
Don't worry, we have lots coming on that subject. Just with all the draft rumors, it's hard to divert focus.
@ Royce
I really enjoy your take on the Thunder and the NBA. Here is a topic I would like to learn more about. With all the focus on the draft, let's not forget that we are entering a possible K-Mart shoppers free agent market. Last year, the Clip-Joint picked up Marcus Camby from the Nuggies for expiring contracts and a couple of used jock straps...all in the name of "Cap Space" and the resulting luxury tax bill. Which teams will find themselves in a similar situation this year? The Hornets come to mind. Might a post-surgery Tyson Chandler be obtained for expiring contracts? If so, I volunteer Earl and Damien...okay, so we also throw in a couple of new jock straps. Attention NBA Shoppers (aka Sam Presti), bargain contracts on Aisle 3! With a lower cap number, is it possible that more restricted free agents will be in play this off-season than in past years? Inquiring minds want to know.
