It’s that time of year again. No, not basketball time. T-shirt time. And the good people at Tree and Leaf are working their butts off (literally, I think Dusty’s butt has literally come completely off) to have a full re-stock of last year’s Daily Thunder shirts plus three or four new designs for the upcoming season.
Want to see what they look like? Here’s a small preview with two more after the jump:

Well, the DT Shirt Summer Vacation Gallery got an overwhelming response from you readers in the form of four total submissions in an attempt to win a free DT shirt. But I’ll accept the blame for that because I didn’t think of it until summer was half over. Next summer we’ll do it again but launch it before Memorial Day.
Daily Thunder reader Grant Wilson of Norman is the winner of the aforementioned DT shirt. The random selection process involved the highly scientific process of me putting numbers one through four on folded small pieces of paper, and Mrs. Patrick James pulling the one that represented Grant out of a Thunder hat. A hearty thanks to the other folks who submitted photos. Grant has opted to wait to claim his prize until the new DT shirts launch sometime soon.
Grant’s winning snapshot came on a vacation he took in July with his wife Meg and her family in Maine at Acadia National Park. Grant, as you can see, was sporting his WHY NOT? playoffs T-shirt as he stood next to his brother-in-law, 10-year-old Ethan. Bonus points (that did not influence his victory, I assure you) for Ethan’s Kevin Durant shirt and especially for the location of the shot: Thunder Hole, a chasm on the coast.
Grant says he’s an avid Thunder fan who has been to a lot of home games, including the team’s not-so-epic first game against Milwaukee in October 2008 and the epic Game 3 playoffs win against the Lakers.
“Best sporting event I’ve ever been to,” he said.
Grant’s an Oklahoma State University grad who holds a University of Oklahoma law degree, which for a lot of people around these parts is either his saving grace or what makes him a traitor. But he contends he only wears OSU orange and Thunder blue when it comes to local sports gear.
So thanks again for those who participated. Check out the other submissions below. Read more…

Serge Ibaka has an Air Congo shirt… do you? If you don’t, Tree and Leaf will be re-stocking the entire catalog of DT-Shirts for the upcoming season. And also, we’ve got a handful of new designs that are pretty stinking outstanding. We’re working on a few other things as well (*cough* girls and kids stuff and maybe even onesies *cough*).

Have you seen the official Thunder team site’s summer vacation-themed, submit-a-photo-win-a-trip thing? It’s pretty cool and you should enter: You submit photos of yourself wearing official Thunder gear on summer vacation, and they select a random winner for a free trip to see USA Basketball (featuring Kevin Durant) in Las Vegas. It seems likely there will be a neat photo gallery of people in Thunderwear to follow.
Well, DT of course has cool shirts. And I see them being worn around town, so I know they’ve probably been stuffed in suitcases (or trash bags and Walmart sacks, for you college students out there) and thrown in a trunk or overhead bin for summer getaways as well. Actually, we know they have been because we’ve already had a couple vacation pictures sent in on Facebook and e-mail. As you can see with the photo accompanying this post, Air Congo apparently makes stops in China. (That is China right, not Idabel? Easy to get the Great Walls of China and McCurtain County confused.) In our short history of producing what I believe are stellar shirts, I’d say this might be the most highly anticipated of the bunch. Serge Ibaka has not only caputured the affection of the Thunder fan base, but also the full attention of the NBA. As Kelly Dwyer said very smartly, he’s your favorite player. You just might not know that yet. And we needed to attempt to capture his signature move on some 100 percent cotton fabric.
So now we humbly present AIR CONGO to you. This shirt is not yet for sale online at this moment, but soon will be either late today or tomorrow. It currently can be bought in store at Tree and Leaf. Go get one and be ready for when it’s entirely available to the pleading masses. I hope it meets your approval.
