View from the enemy: Truth About It

It’s probably just because it looks to easy. But for whatever reason, I fear this game. Any time you start a win streak, it has to end at some point and it always feels like it’ll be sooner than later. And any time you have the best team playing the worst, it just feels like a trap.

Then again, the Wizards are totally terrible.

Washington coming in: The Wizards have lost 12 of 13 and last lost Monday at home against Houston.

Three Big Things

1. Fast point guards. John Wall hasn’t been playing as well as he probably should be this season, but it will still be a fun matchup of him and Russell Westbrook. Both are lightning quick with the ball in their hands, both are explosive around the rim and both are fun in the open floor. Should make this one somewhat entertaining.

2. Defense. The Wizards are the worst offensive team in basketball. The Thunder started slow defensively this season but have played much better on that end the past couple games. Here’s an opportunity to really boost that defensive rating against a crap offensive team.

3. Um… There’s really nothing more to say other than the Wizards stink and the Thunder should handle business on the road in Washington. Maybe there could be a lack of focus, a lack of energy or whatever, but the fact is, Oklahoma City should handle the Wizards without much stress tonight.

Tip at 6:00 CT. Go Best Record.

Horse crap.... wake the F@#$ up thunder!!!!

Lasers 313 pts

Well at least the suns beat the knicks (and atlanta is beating portland at the moment)

f5alcon 901 pts

Lasers but spurs and denver won

Lasers 313 pts

I like the spurs, bummer about denver though

Lasers 313 pts

ah crap, portland just tied it on a 13-0 run.. maybe i hate basketball

OkcBaby 486 pts

Kinda weird Harden was in for crunchtime. But I think Thabo would have been better:)

Old Man Game 962 pts

I don't want to overreact to this but it does suck to lose to the worst team in the league when you think you're the best and earlier in the day your favorite blog for your team had a post about your team's championship window being wide open. Sigh.

OkcBaby 486 pts

Wall is quick. Kinda made Russ look slow

OBoymuzik 1597 pts

OkcBaby remember that time when westbrook ran down the court and made a layup in like 3 seconds...

they both fast son

OkcBaby 486 pts

OBoymuzik Duh. Captain obvious

Lost Ones 589 pts

Can someone explain to me why thabo wasn't on Nick young in the 4th qtr after it obviously wasn't working

LPCes99 227 pts

Lost Ones That's a question for Scotty but i'm assuming Harden was in for Thabo? Or am I Wrong?

Lost Ones 589 pts

LPCes99 I dont even remember i think we was going small KD obviously couldn't guard him total lack of coaching

OBoymuzik 1597 pts

Lost Onesour 6th man of the year was out there....not doing anything

LPCes99 227 pts

Lost Ones Let's be honest here, Scotty shouldnt need to bring in Thabo in for NICK YOUNG? Really? If we can't stop Nick "there's never a shot I didn't like" Young then we have bigger problems

Lost Ones 589 pts

LPCes99 When a man is hot and his defender is helping him you call timeout i dont even think scott utilized a time out the whole qtr bad coaching.

Old Man Game 962 pts

LPCes99Lost Ones Nick Young has proven in the past that he can have nights like this. When he's on the guy is a flamethrower.

Old Man Game 962 pts

Lost Ones Exactly my question. Harden was in instead, but he was playing like ass tonight. Been better off with Thabo on him because KD was flat out awful guarding him.

Lost Ones 589 pts

Old Man Game KDS been awful this entire year on defense we need a defensive minded coach we already have offense.

Crow 212 pts

Somebody in an earlier thread said every contender had flaws. That is true but Chicago has very few. Average shooting, poor 3 pt defense and bad matchup results at center are about their only flaws and they may have more top level strengths than anyone else including rebounding on both sides of the court.

LPCes99 227 pts

Crow Yea but their flaws exposed them in the playoffs, especially in the EAST.....find it hard to believe they can beat many teams just with Rose, Miami will eat them alive and other teams will give them good competition

ThunderWins 478 pts

LPCes99Crow At least the bulls play defense.

We gave up so many layups and open threes i thought I was watching the Thunder from 2 years ago.

Crow 212 pts

ThunderWinsLPCes99 At some point, March or April I assume the organization will have to try go to to the whip on defense. They improved late last season but not to a really elite level. I don't see this team ever getting to a top 5 defense. 10th best is about the best I can hope for. 9th best from 2 years ago might not be topped. So they have to be a top 5 offense. Especially in the playoffs. Last season they were 2nd best.

JimboSlice 485 pts

LPCes99Crow I would say their flaws are more excusable than ours. They have equitable depth, although not as "pretty" to look at on paper as us with Harden coming off the bench. They got beat down against Miami, but with the emergence of Asik in the second unit, they may fare a lot better this year. In short, they're going to win much uglier more often than we are, and be equally frustrating to watch, but their flaws bode better for them than do ours.

Crow 212 pts

JimboSliceLPCes99 I don't follow the East much but I might favor them over Miami as of right now. But there is a fair amount of time for things to change.

Crow 212 pts

LPCes99 Miami had good games from 3 pt land against them in theconference finals in 2 wins. Miami was no threat at the center spot. The main reason the Bulls lost was not shooting well.

SammyThunderer 1300 pts

Crow Anyone that thinks we're in playoff shape after this game is obviously deluded. The flaws that killed us here have been a problem all season long and they would be fatal in the playoffs. That said, we still have a lot of time to fix them, and if we just correct two of the three big ones (drebs, opp TOs, own TOs) then I think we'll be in pretty good shape

Crow 212 pts

SammyThunderer It could happen but I tend to doubt they get above average on any of the three (drebs, opp TOs, own TOs) by season's end without a trade. But in the playoffs each are possible with greater focus / effort / may a few adjustments.

LPCes99 227 pts

Wow we dont play till Saturday? This is gonna suck

OKCBornandBred 279 pts

LPCes99 Again, why all the good mojo and feeling from the Bos game are gone. We have to wait forever, and then play NJ, Det, and NO. Winning those won't do much for my psyche. Losing them, however. . . well let's just not go there

OBoymuzik 1597 pts

this was more embarrassing than the home loss to the raptors last year( the game i took a out of town relative to bragging about how good our team was before the game)

LPCes99 227 pts

OMG, Magic took too long and Reddick made the 3pter but after time expired, so Spurs win!!

LPCes99 227 pts

Good loss, this will refocus everyone, as much as I want to blame Brooks, he's not out there fighting for the rebounds

SammyThunderer 1300 pts

LPCes99 Not sure who else to blame for the rebounding though, considering our personnel.

SammyThunderer 1300 pts

LPCes99 I mean, obviously, the team as a whole deserves blame, but I think the coach is culpable as well for not being able to fix this problem with players that should be much more productive than they are on the glass.

Lasers 313 pts

Hopefully this one makes the guys burn. Our complacency is our worst enemy (along with boards). Gonna be hard to forget this one.

OKCBornandBred 279 pts

Hollinger says it best, "This was what I wrote about day after Boston game ... OKC was getting Ws but they weren't sharp. Biting them tonight."

OKCBornandBred 279 pts

Until we learn to be "sharp" We're in trouble come playoff time

RodneyRosavelRusanWilson 613 pts

but obviously the defense and rebounding killed us... and a lack of running any sets

OKCBornandBred 279 pts

Denver is a team that is going to completely wipe the floor with us sometime this season

RodneyRosavelRusanWilson 613 pts

the thunder need more offensive help from other players... it cant be all russ kd harden... maynor was the only other person who could create his own shot... may need to try to pick up a creator

LPCes99 227 pts

Now I gotta stay up and hope the rest of the West loses, Denver won already : (

persiansooner13 395 pts

obvious trap game, totally saw the first 44 mins coming but i REALLY thought we would pull it out in the end. Bad bad loss.

Kcicero 5 pts

Bad bad loss. But I think a reality check was needed at some point for this team.Just wish it wasn't a loss to the Wizards. Now will see where this season takes us as we see how they respond to this.

OBoymuzik 1597 pts

we really need harden to get his shit together, last two games teams half stopped his pick and roll with collison and he's quit

persiansooner13 395 pts

OBoymuzik yeah the celts started to show HARD and it looks like every team from now on will follow that blueprint.

OKCBornandBred 279 pts

I don't care if we win the next four games. All the good mojo of the Thunder's win against Boston is gone until we beat a good team again

ILikePancakes 1555 pts

Anyone else a bit dissapointed by Perk tonight?
