english is taught in german school system, so he should have at least been exposed to basic english.

One of the hobbies listed for Pleiss at his team's site is Spanish language. That could be a smart thing for him to do or at least for him and his agent to say. The Spanish league could offer him a bigger paycheck than his current situation and it is an option to consider / use in negotiations with the Thunder. If he comes over he could perhaps use Spanish to communicate with Serge and Thabo- if that is needed. Looks like half of his current team is American. I'd hope he has English ability too.

i'll give her an idea about it, i'll tell ya what she says,

Ibaka only got 16 minutes per game in Spain but played all but a few games.

Teams over there may not want to develop certain prospects too fast as they might leave quicker or just have less time to get comfortable and perhaps want to stay.

Draftexpress (pre-draft I assume) said Ibaka's best (reasonable) case was Ty Thomas. He has past him on many things but not everything.

Ibaka in Spain vs Pleiss in Germany:

Slight edge to Ibaka on FGA per minute, huge advantage to Ibaka on FG%, small edges to Pleiss getting to the line per minute and hitting them, Ibaka wins on offensive rebounding, Pleiss on defensive rebounding (and both by big margins), Plesis actually ahead of Ibaka on blocks per minute and 4 times the assist%, Ibaka 3-4 times the steals, Pleiss 75% more fouls per minute and 25% more turnovers.

They are different in position and body type but they both did pretty well over there.

so im watching the docu on Ibaka fully now on a good computer, and man this dude is just as humble as KD.

European coaches tend to be real hard-asses with young guys, in part perhaps because the officials may let players bang a little more and in part because they probably try to run tight systems and really don't appreciate young guy mistakes or free-lancing.

I'd guess Pleiss has a pretty good shot to eventually play in the NBA but I try not to get my hopes up too high about that with young bigs after watching many disappoint.

So like regular PER, your personal PER rewards usage, rewards scoring pretty generously and is not that kind to defensive rebounds?

I'd like to see Nate get some run before the playoffs just to check it out some and be prepared to use him if you need to for various reasons. Learn a little about what works better in some situations better than others.

Denver plays Lawson-Felton together an average of 12-15 minutes per game, especially in the second half. They need to get ready for that in the upcoming regular season games. Learn what combos to use against that and which ones to avoid.

After getting up to speed, long straight strides running down the court can work pretty well.

Defensive movement is often the most side to side and dependent on initial acceleration and quick mental reaction too.

Moving on offense is a mix of straight ahead and lateral and you know more what you want to do and can prepare to make our move some, apply good footwork, deception, use of the body.

Do anyone think that Brooks should run Nate at the point and RW at the two just to see how it would work at times.I like maynor but think Nate is just as good but alot better on offense.

Like I said I’m biased because I know the guy but reading some ny forums earlier this year some fans were ecstatic an actually had high hopes of him starting… He was waived yet an article was released shortly before with him saying he feels A’s though he is at 90% or somewhere in that range… Could some of him not suiting up have been a coaching/player issue… Maybe relationship issue?

Azu seems like he would be a good fit, we more than likely would have to send him to the D-League until hes 100% but if i remember right he was signed by the Knicks, and they need as many centers as they can get, so it may have been more of a coaching/player issue,

Mobility down the court and maybe moving on offense was called his main strength as is often the case for young bigs, not carrying too much weight and not having taken as much knee pounding yet. That strength usually fades.

The other physical assessments weren't called above average NBA level strengths but probably harder to say between NBA average and below. Everyone looks for above average but NBA average or near average can still be pretty good.

I don't see how you would not be able to translate speed into lateral quickness ect with the right training... But like I said I haven't watched him... Maybe he has had some extensive training in that area and just can't catch on

Half way between Love and Krstic would be great. Krstic level would be good off the bench. Halfway between Krstic and current Mullens or Aldrich... might be ok but not that exciting. Having many young big guys in the pipeline (including Williams and Reid) and hoping 1 or more pans out is probably ok but if you can get a more ready player I'd be open to moves.

Yeah crow I ran into that link... Really didn't tell me much still... Why are his minutes so low... So is it pretty safe to assume that he does not really even stand out in his current league? Really I am confident with whatever move presti makes... He has stayed very consistent on his decisions... Of course I don't know if I would agree if we do end up going after Steve Nash like that one anylist said we needed to do haha... I mean I wanted to ask Steve if he kisses his mother with that mouth last game ha... What do you see as promising prospects for our team next year crow? Would you like to see cook stay?... Maynor?

Could Serge improve on a weakness (1.5% assist%) and get to Taj Gibson assist% of 5% ? I'd hope so. Could he "catch" Ty Thomas' 9%? I don't know.

Could he catch Ty Thomas" FTA per minute (currently double Ibaka's rate)? I don't know. I'd hope so or nearly so. Maybe primarily from the zip move?

Isn't Pleiss a lot more athletic than Krstic and Aldrich? Krstic was more athletic before the knee injury, but I thought Pleiss was pretty athletic.
