TGR 39: Wagering on All-Star Weekend

The Face and The Guy prepare for the upcoming All-Star festivities by bringing on a professional NBA gambler. He helps us pick our winners for each of the main events. But for good measure we also bring in our very own 2 1/2 year old NBA analyst to give us his picks.

Chris Paul fined $15K for "verbal abuse" of a referee

hehe

wonder what he said?
("hey dummy, you got that call wrong")

Speaking of movies I've never seen before and am kinda watching on TV right now, Revolver is pretentious when it's not being hokey, and Statham looks odd in a wig.

man, 70 degrees and sunny in Edmond

nearly all the big snow piles have completely melted away
(*wiping away a tear*)

@clarkem
Players moving around, setting screens and passing. What a concept, huh:)

@okc baby
You mean the one that created a wide open three pointer for the best three point shooter on the team?? Nah, what could he possibly learn that he doesn't already know?

Hopefully Brooks watched that last play Miami ran at the end of the game.

Haha. Lebron took out a Celtics fan. Nice dive.

something to chew on:

Warriors Team Report

David :
Watching Boston I think I’d rather have Glenn Davis then Perkins. Davis is a better offensive threat, can take charges, is a big body, and better passer

So you want the fat jupm shooting big guy who can't get off the ground and is a mediocre rebounder?

oops, should be "Ekpe"

also at warriorsworld.net, a post on Epke Udoh

Apparently, he is starting to make a defensive presence for Golden State
(I know... "defense" and "Golden State" in the same sentence sounds like an oxymoron)

It's kind of interesting because Udoh is a local boy. Grew up in Edmond and went to Santa Fe High School, which is just a couple of miles away from the current Thunder practice center.

So, I just learned "The Mark Jackson Rule".

wow, over at warriorsworld.net, their pre-game post has a pretty lengthy analysis of OKC's strengths and weaknesses

good write up

David :
Watching Kobe the other night, there is one move I want to see KD do more of: the post move spin around fade shot. Kobe does it all the time, he almost always makes it, and it’s pretty much unguardable

There's a reason only one guy in the league consistently takes and makes that shot...

Depressing to watch Miami and Boston play eachother

funny to see Durant tweet a comment about Mookie Blaylock

Years ago I knew a guy who was really into OU basketball. He talked about Blaylock a lot. First time he mentioned him, I though he was putting me on -- "Mookie Blaylock" sounded like such a ridiculous, made-up name. Then I checked... no, there really was a guy with that name on the OU team. Mookie exists.

really diggin this pic at Golden State of Mind:

Keith Smart strikes a pose

I think he's saying "hell yeah, Monta... I want you to shoot the ball"

question: would you sport a purple paisley tie? in public?
;)

dangerous game tonight

we SHOULD win

(notice the "SHOULD")

Bender :
Anyone know why we are 2.5 point underdogs in the game tonight. What does Vegas know?

they watched our last few games?
