Thunder to open at home against Chicago

According to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune, Oklahoma City is opening the NBA season October 27 at home against the Bulls. That means in the Thunder’s three seasons in OKC, they’ve opened at home each year.

Definitely an excellent opening night game that has high potential for national TV. The 27th is a Wednesday and ESPN typically broadcasts that night. A good matchup of new and improved Bulls against the up-and-coming Thunder makes for an especially intriguing opener.

The NBA will announce opening-week and other featured 2009-10 regular-season games for the Thunder and the rest of the league as part of a specialĀ  at 6 p.m. CT Tuesday on the NBATV. The full schedule will be released Aug. 10.

@BDK

National TV, opening night, home game, T-shirts?!

I don't care how many marquee games we get. I'm still getting NBA League Pass

@Greg
yeah, gonna be a fun year, im surprised there is not a marquee thunder vs heat game.

i'm thinking about 18 national tv games

f5alcon :
that means we probably will have a few more tv appearances as that is not the complete tv schedule.

Many more appearances I'd assume. We're tied at 4 for the most "marquee" games on that schedule with LA, Chicago, and Orlando.

MLK Day Thunder @ lakers Jan 17th.

who the hell is the doofus they have hosting this NBA-TV thing?

Steve Kerr ranks:
1. Kobe
2. LeBron
3. Durant

that means we probably will have a few more tv appearances as that is not the complete tv schedule.

Also saying that Durant is "at this point better than Wade".

I know, not at the thunderdome, but marquee nontheless.

Grolgar :
Amazing schedule. To get 3 “marquee” games in the Thunderdome is outstanding.

And a fourth against the Lakers

Kenny Smith once again on record that Durant will be the best player on the planet in two years.

Amazing schedule. To get 3 "marquee" games in the Thunderdome is outstanding.

That's odd... The Heat only have 3 games on that schedule.

Grolgar :So, this is the schedule so far (please correct me if I’m wrong):
Opening Night: Bulls @ ThunderHalloween: Jazz @ ThunderChristmas: Thunder vs. Denver (location?)

Christmas game here at 7:00pm

Prime Schedule -- Four of the "marquee" games.

Now there's the love.

So, this is the schedule so far (please correct me if I'm wrong):

Opening Night: Bulls @ Thunder
Halloween: Jazz @ Thunder
Christmas: Thunder vs. Denver (location?)

From Kevin Durant

"Just found out we're gonna play a Christmas game against Denver inside the Ford Center at 7 p.m. Games gonna be on ESPN. Big for us! THUNDERUP!"

Heck yes!!

Nat'l tv thunder schedule:

Oct. 27 8 p.m. ET Bulls at Thunder (ESPN)
Oct. 31 7 p.m. ET Jazz at Thunder (NBATV)
Dec. 25 8 p.m. ET Nuggets at Thunder (ESPN)
Jan. 17, 2011 10:30 p.m. ET Thunder at Lakers (TNT)

Jazz@Thunder HALLOWEEN GAME

Is the Denver game home or away?

they have to fill an hour somehow

so pumped for opening day

My mistake. Meant for another thread.

Nuggets have 3 50+ wins seasons in Melo's 7 year career. 1 time out of the first round. Probably no better than 50% chance of getting out of the first round this season or in each of the next few. That is a pretty typical good but not truly great team arch.

KingGondo :
Intriguing match-up. I’m putting money on either Utah or Portland for our inevitable Christmas Day game.

you lose its against denver

Is all of this analysis necessary for a schedule show?

Please keep updating. I'm working and can't see what's being said and announced. Much obliged.

C-Webb: "From Oklahoma, all the way to the Bulls, LA, the Heat.. we know it's going to be exciting".

Is this a Miami Heat season preview?

Intriguing match-up. I'm putting money on either Utah or Portland for our inevitable Christmas Day game. :D

The Ford Center is going to be a mad-house opening night.

good time to play the bulls, with all the team changes the chemistry wont be perfect and we can beat them

I won two opening night tickets to this game during the Thunder draft party at Toby Keith's. Now that I know who will be playing, I'm excited all over again. Oct 27th is too far away!

I can't wait to see our guys on the floor again.

sweet! that should be a great game!
