Kevin Durant on the cover for NBA Elite 11

Very cool news: This year’s NBA Live, which has been renamed to NBA Elite, will feature KD on its cover. From the press release, KD said, “I’ve always been a fan of EA SPORTS,” said Durant. “This has been an exciting year for me and the team, and capping it off with being on the cover of NBA ELITE 11 is cool.”

Durant is only the third player in EA SPORTS history to be featured both on the pack of an NCAA and an NBA licensed product. Durant was featured on the cover of NCAA March Madness 08.

It’s too bad the 2K games are so much better. But I may have to get this one just out of support for KD.

I loved 2k10 but it felt really stiff and unrealistic and NBA elite sounds like it's fixed that so I'm goin with NBA elite

I haven't played a good basketball video game since Double Dribble on NES. I'm not much of a gamer(as you may have guessed) but I love Family Feud on Wii. Getting a win against my wife is up there with a Thunder victory, as far as I'm concerned.

2K10 was borderline unplayable. Really odd when one considers how good 2K9 was.

2k10 was a significant downgrade from 2k9

DizzyDai :
2K10 was a little glitchy.

2K10 wasn't just glitchy - it sucked. I'm never buying a 2K product again since they decided to skimp on QA testing in favor or just releasing garbage. If Elite sucks I'm just out of the game alltogether for buying hoops games like I am for NFL games.

The "Insider" was a perpetual failure that carried over from 2K9. He lagged for weeks on roster moves and didn't implement the player progression feature at all.

Framerate/jitters were a joke even after the patch. You couldn't play a game in NYC because the game would go to 5 frames a second.

Animations would lock down for almost all actions causing you to lose all control of your player.

Shooting a pair of free-throws required you to pause the game and unpause so the camera angle would switch.

Player attributes were all over the place with the simulated stats being like 40ppg with 22 rebounds for some players.

The My Player mode would often result in duplicated players causing the game to bomb because the game confused your clone with your created player.

Online play was a joke and laggy and resulted in dropped games (even if you overlook all the 99 rated players)

I agreed with Royce... Always a fan of NBA 2k games better than NBA Live games. But just out of support for KD, I will get this one, too...

@DizzyDai

There are just some things that I find absolutely inexcusable in games like these. It makes it hard for me to play.

I've come close to breaking a controller over the ridiculous post move, turn around jumper off the BACKSIDE OF THE BACKBOARD.

Inexcusable.

And the slowdown on X360 version of 2k10 is infuriating.

2K10 was a little glitchy.

I'm already getting this (although I loved 2k10), but the only dilemma I have is whether to get it on PS3 or 360...

I loved NBA 2k9

I loathed NBA 2k10

We'll see

Small-Market my ass! KD is international son!

this is awesome! that's pretty big time, guys..

although, i completely agree with this statement: "It’s too bad the 2K games are so much better. But I may have to get this one just out of support for KD." - i was gonna say almost the exact same thing before i saw that at the end..

Unfortunately, guess who's on the cover of 2K11?

Uh-oh. Still good for KD, though.

Guess I will have to try them after next season.

2K is so much better. It's not even close.

Sweet! I always played the nba live games. Never tried 2k

The controls are more like the EA NHL series or the Skate series...Left thumbstick for hands, right thumbstick for feet. It looks real promising...

Cooooool. I may buy it.

This is supposed to be a totally re-designed game, but I highly doubt I will prefer it to 2K11. Oh well.
