Playoff minutes are a valuable commodity. Why waste them on a rent-a-player that's not gonna get you out of the second round when you can be grooming your young core players?

I have no idea why you guys so opposed to us picking up another big man for only these few games. Its not like its really going to hurt us. .... I think some of you are just arguing for the sake of arguing.
</blockquote>

The reason I don't want to get a rent-a-player is that it WILL hurt us. If they work out and they win a couple extra games, it will seem like the quick fix that you are always looking for. At its best, they don't work out, but chances are it will screw with the chemistry of the existing guys; (i.e. Make someone look over their shoulder).

If you sign someone for a longer haul (i.e. Maynor) then it works for someone looking over their shoulder to make them better (Westbrook).

Beyond all of that, you cannot substitute experience. I feel that the reason why we are on a 9 game winning streak is because we experienced that "They lost their last five games by a total of 5 points" period. Outside of the Bulls loss at home, we have not lost a game since!

If we make it to the playoffs and go out in 4, then so be it. That will be a taste that will take us to new heights next year. Pain and determination is the best teacher.

It's funny to think he's only 26 years old. Those serbians have a nasty habit of looking 15 years older than they actually are.

And I am not on board with the idea that if we don’t sign or trade for a big that it is a lost offseason. I know that I am in the minority, but I still think that Beejyron could be the center of the future. We’ve seen Robin Lopez, a young big who looked like crap last year, really improve over the course of one year, so it does happen, and Mullens certainly has the potential and skills to do the same thing.
Another reason I still believe in Beejyron is the fact that Presti and his minions seem to really like him. They traded up to get him, they sent Brooks to Tulsa to observe him when he was with the 66ers, and he’s up with the big team now instead of with the 66ers, which I consider to be a good thing.
</blockquote>

I agree on Byron. I think they are trying to groom him into a version of pre-injury Nenad Krstic (All-star stats). He's got a ton of athleticism and size. He's still only 20 years old, and he's obviously showing signs, which is why they brought him back from the D-league in the first place. He just hasn't had the chance to get on the floor because the games have been close so far. I think he has the potential to develop into a very good piece to our puzzle.

Nenad Krstic has almost 600 playoff minutes, BTW..
</blockquote>

People seem to conveniently forget the fact that Nenad actually was very skilled when he played for the Nets, before he lost much of his athleticism to injury. He shows some signs of having some of those post moves, we just don't put it in his hands very often. It's a shame he's lost as much as he had with that injury.

The quality isn't that great, but you can see how much more mobility he once had.
