Introducing the KDII and the story behind them

I just find this fascinating. I’m no shoe guy in any way. I own like four pairs and my basketball shoes are the same set that I wore as a freshman in high school. But for some reason, I just find the design of Kevin Durant’s shoes intriguing. I actually think I want a pair. (My wife begs me for them every day, but she needs kid’s sizes and alas, there are none.) I love how there is a story told and I love how connected he is with the model. This video highlights the features of the new KDII and some colorways. Though I’m not too psyched about the Laker colorway. WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO SAY NIKE?

UPDATE: I can’t believe I missed this, but Clark Matthews makes a great point: “Anyone notice that at about the 1:25 mark, the designer pointed out something about the heal and said the feature meant ‘he won’t be popping out of his shoe.’ Tell that to Aron Afflalo.” After doing some hardcore investigative journalism, I believe Durant was wearing the KD1 when that play happened. Still humorous though.

Woah woah woah, who is this other Rohit?

Other Rohit how you likin your KDII's I am thinkin about gettin some myself

Some interesting information, and a lot of thought obviously went into making the shoes. They reflect a good deal of personal input by Durant himself. But, does anyone else find it a bit odd that someone would make a five minute video about....a shoe?

@Rohit
Time out; is this the Rohit I know (How can there be more than one?)

Does Andrea know about this?

The grey and orange ones...anybody remember me saying the alternate jerseys should be a stormcloud grey with orange panels (similar to a reverse of the Suns' alternates). And that colorway is coming out this summer?

Just sayin...

got the white black and orange kdIIs at finishline at penn square mall for like 90 bucks and i love em

i don't wear basketball shoes but the black/red ones are pretty sexy. same can be said for the all-star edition.

i would never ruin a nice pair of shoes by playing basketball in them. nice sneakers are a work of art, example:

the legendary jordan XI 'space jams' http://bit.ly/5daqBE
or my personal faves, and my most recent purchase, the air jordan VI http://ow.ly/1n8AHA

I have a pair of KD1s, and I love them. Light, comfortable, and affordable for someone who only plays once or twice a week. And the little details that reflect Kevin's life are a really nice touch.

And I would totally wear the grey and orange pair... nice

I'm not really a big fan of basketball shoes (because I don't play enough anymore to justify owning a pair) but I really like what KD has done with them. He puts so much of himself into everything... and it's really positive for kids to have a role model that really puts the emphasis on family and hard work.... really nice to see.

PLEASE MAKE KID SIZES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Clark Matthews :

AWESOME point Clark. I can't believe I missed that.

don't worry about the laker colorway, nike always makes colorways of sneakers in iconic team colors. it's actually kind of a compliment that they're doing that, jordan retros and hybrids usually come in laker, celtic and piston colors (when they know we want black and red).

...and if you haven't seen the KD2 all-star colorway, they're pretty awesome, the icy sole is to die for... http://bit.ly/bcO5TF will they be in stores?

I just got my pair of KD II's yesterday...chicks at the gym have been all over me ever since.

I don't wanna wait until this summmmmmmeerrrrr!!!

That sucks that Mrs DT cant get KD IIs maybe she should write to nike and ask them.

I never found the KD1s in my area. It irked me a bit, but I've already got a fine pair of Nike Airs, so no big deal.
