The best teams probably have 2+ high frequency in the clutch / capable guys.

There are about 30 guys who take a lot of clutch shots and do it well. Maybe another 50-60 who chip in well on modest or low frequency of shots. Thunder will need to this part running better for clutch wins in big games.

Clutch stats are pretty small sample sizes and can change quickly. Next year and year after Durant and Green will probably be whatever they are going to be in the clutch… and pretty much most other ways I’d say.

Harden is weak in the clutch so far. Same for Ibaka. Maynor untested. Nick has hit every clutchtime shot he has taken this season but he hasn’t taken that many. Thabo typical. Krstic hitting 67% eFG% on these but also rarely taking them.

IMHO… If KD is not on the court to draw 2 or 3 defenders for his teammates… You’ve got to be a Kobe’s level type of superstar to even try to do the game saving attempt or be a clutch player.
That’s why sometime I think many people take KD for granted.

(4th quarter or overtime, less than 5 minutes left,
neither team ahead by more than 5 points)

this season
Durant 37% eFG% (same on jumpers and inside)
Green 27% eFG% (he will hit his inside shots 67% FG but not his jumpers 13% FG)

last season
Durant 39% eFG% (he hit inside)
Green 51% eFG% (he did better on jumpers)

Green and Durant both took more of these shots last season.

Who else is taking them?

Westbrook last season 42% eFG% on about as many takes as Green and less than half of KD then.

Westbrook this season 42% eFG% and the attempts are up a bit. Right now the best option of the 3- strictly by the numbers. Few are very good at this.
