Tuesday Bolts – 12.1.09

Daily Thunder shirts are officially on sale. They’re going fast so you best hurry. Again, if you don’t get one today, thunderbolt23no fear, more will be along. They are available in store and online. Just click the picture on the right and it’ll take you right there.

Kyle Weaver and Kevin Ollie both had successful surgery yesterday. Weaver will be out a minimum of four months and Ollie up to four weeks.

Marc Stein has OKC at No. 13 in his latest power rankings: “Morey after Houston inflicted Oklahoma City’s fourth home loss: “Huge W against vastly improved OKC [team] playing like a top-10 [team].” Top-15 is more like it, but add him to the (growing) list of Thunder admirers.”

NBA.com has OKC at 13 as well: “With Sunday’s loss to the Rockets, the Thunder failed to put together a three-game winning streak for the third time. They remain pretty inconsistent on both sides of the ball and on the glass. They gave up 23 offensive boards to Houston.”

SI’s power rankings has OKC at, you guess it, 13: “Another sign of the Thunder’s rapid maturation: they are winning despite a rash of injuries. With Nenad Krstic, Nick Collison, Shaun Livingston, Kevin Ollie and Kyle Weaver on the sidelines, OKC won by double digits in Utah and wiped out Milwaukee at home. Of slight concern is the long range shooting of Kevin Durant, who has made just 24.3 percent of his three-pointers this season.”

HoopsWorld has OKC at 14: “The Thunder looked like a playoff team Friday on their national TV spotlight against the Bucks.”

Some interesting notes from the Thunder-Rockets game: “In time, with Durant at the helm, Oklahoma City will be good. Making the playoffs in the competitive Western Conference is within the realm of possibility. Don’t be surprised if that happens sooner, rather than later. Thing is, he needs help, something he didn’t have much of against the Rockets.”

Nice look at Serge Ibaka on an up and comers list: “So now you’re a huge fan of his and you’re pulling for him to become a star, but you might not have seen him play yet. So, let’s talk about how he plays. Well, everything positive I said about Amir Johnson applies here: he protects the paint, runs the floor hard, crashes the boards, and can score around the basket. He makes his presence known. Plus, he has a jump shot! And, again, he’s only 19. The potential here is ludicrous. Already, there’s a lot to love about how he plays on both ends of the court. Imagine him in five years. Can’t wait.”

Shaun Livingston and Nick Collison practiced yesterday. Collison should see some time tomorrow night against Philly.

I really liked this feature on Mike Wilks: “It wasn’t to be for Wilks, the 5-foot-10 point guard who the Thunder signed Thursday out of desperation. Wilks played his college ball at Rice, went undrafted in 2001 and has spent the past eight years journeying the country in search of a job.”

Improv Everywhere strikes again, this time at a Knicks game.

Remember, SHIRTS!

    Hey, you promised the shirts would ship internationally yet the store does not let me enter a country. How would I order and how would I know how much shipping costs?

    December 1st, 2009 at 10:34 | #5

    @Alexfromgermany
    Oh crap, I can’t believe I forgot to mention this.

    To get a shirt internationally, the best thing to do is physically call the store. I don’t know their exact issues, but if you call the store and place an order by phone, they can get it to you. I feel horrible for forgetting this.

    If a size is listed as sold out on the website, is there a chance they’ll still have it in store? (Looking for a L Zombie Sonics shirt)

  19. Royce
    December 1st, 2009 at 11:07 | #19

    @KingGondo
    It’s unlikely. The Zombie shirts went really fast.

    I feel bad people aren’t getting shirts that want them. Like I said, we’re on the ball and trying to get more.

  29. f5alcon
    December 1st, 2009 at 12:50 | #29

    i never thought being short and skinny was an advantage, but i guess it is because not many guys wear small

    @f5alcon
    No need to brag, man. :(

    dammit out of mediums in zombie sonics…wow that really just epically brought my day down…yeah i think you underestimated the love we have of both our team and sweet shirts, but isnt kind of a good sign that they are out so quick, well at least for those who got some… :(

    if ur having this much success maybe the ford center could start selling some, or maybe even get picked up on bigger sites like yahoo shop or nba shop…

    The only downside to mainstream is the limitedness losses, i kinda like knowing there are only a few dozen people with these shirts, though im sure royce wants the money from selling tons, next yera he has courtside seats or something,lol

    @Royce

    Yes, I’d be in for an XXL of each shirt.

  38. f5alcon
    December 1st, 2009 at 13:35 | #38

    @Alex

    i think the K and D are too stretched, but the clouds have the perfect t-shirt look. did you email it to royce?

  39. December 1st, 2009 at 13:48 | #39

    I don’t know what it is with separated shoulders this year, but I’m highly disappointed for Kyle Weaver.

  40. dylan
    December 1st, 2009 at 13:49 | #40

    @Alex
    that’s beautiful, though you probably can’t get away with using his face in there.

    Maybe instead of “KD It’s rainin’ buckets” it just says “It’s rainin’ buckets” and instead of raindrops of his face, it’s raining down the letters KD.

    Anyway, that’s a fantastic idea and I would wear that shirt in a minute. As soon as these go on sale in large again, I’ll buy 4 or 5 and I would definitely pick up some xxl for my bro

  41. Duncan
    December 1st, 2009 at 14:08 | #41

    Add me to the list of fat guys requesting XXL. My friends love me because I always seem to get the free thunder tees at games and events but they’re are too small for me… so they reap the rewards of the giveaways without having to put in any effort. There’s something wrong when the skinny guys are the lazy ones.

  42. Royce
    December 1st, 2009 at 14:09 | #42

    The XXL sizes are noted. I’ll definitely talk to the Tree and Leaf fellas about that.

    @dylan he should be able to use the face if he drew it or modified it.

    I’m waiting for Thabo to post on his twitter about how he’s getting snubbed on Royce’s TShirt. Of course since he’s not 100% black or white I guess it’s kind of hard to make it work.

  50. Osano-Whoa
    December 1st, 2009 at 18:15 | #50

    So uh, what are the chances of getting an XXL-Tall shirt?
