CP3, Derron Williams, Rajon Rondo, Derrick Rose... these guys were all very good point guards with few faults at 20 years old. These four are part of a rash of really good guards lately, and I think the bar of expectation has risen due to it.

It would be interesting to see how many guards in league history were as error prone as Russell is early in their careers, and how long it took them to figure things out. Did Tramel throw out 4 years as arbitrary, or did he have something solid behind that number?

Actually, I decided to try and answer my own question with a quick search on basketball-reference.com.

I think Tramel is definitely right about taking the time. We're all a little impatient and, to some extent, have already elevated our core to superhero status. It'll do everyone a little good to realize he's a second year player learning to run an offense against the best basketball players in the world. No easy feat in any way, let alone as a young kid just out of college.

Colin, if your team needs rebounding and blocking points, he's not a bad pick up at all.

I'd pick him up for as long as he's healthy. He won't play 24 min/g every night, but his defense has been very important to the team and will likely continue to be a big factor.

Etan Thomas... thoughts? Is he here for the season? Will he replace Nenad in the starting lineup? I'm thinking of picking him up in a deeeeeep fantasy league, but want to get as much info as I can first.
