Just for laughs

November 21st, 2009 Joe

Remember how interested all of us were in seeing if our man Presti would go hot after the Polish Hammer on the opening day of free agency. We just knew that he’d be big time in a Thunder Uni at a reasonable price of course. Then we find out that Darryl Morey the GM for Houston was over at Gortat’s house at 12:01 a.m. the first morning of the free agency period singing Sonnets and toasting his unfailing love for the Hammer. Meh! I knew it was a lost cause then. What I didn’t see coming was Dallas swooping in and getting him, and then Otis Smith matching on Cuban’s offer.

Well courtesy of Basketbawful, home of the funniest nba pics we have this gem from earlier in the week. Don’t spit your coffee onto your computer screen. Enjoy:

    Someone needs to teach Weaver where to put the ball.

    Speaking of just for laughs, how about this trade?

    Green and Nenad to the Grizz for Gasol,Arthur, and Hunter. I love me some Marc Gasol.

    I think that Gasol could be gotten without giving up anything significant. Take Marko Jaric’s bad contract, and you could probably get Gasol for Etan, one of the first round picks, Mullens, and Weaver.

    I would trade Jeff Green for Marc Gasol in a second, might even throw in a pick.

    Vega, Memphis would never do that trade. Gasol is playing great and Thabeet is nowhere near ready.

    I wouldn’t trade Mullens yet anyway, we haven’t got a chance to really coach him and develop him. I guess it’s cool to give everybody else on our roster a chance to develop, but not a 7’1 extremely athletic center with a nice stroke. All he needs is to learn the post and develop a toughness and we’re all drooling over him, so lets give him some time too.

    @justin
    I would too. I figure they may need a center coming back to play 20-25 a night until Thabeet is ready to go.

    They traded Pau for Kwame. Never say never.

    @Jax Raging Bile Duct

    The traded Pau for Kwame, Marc Gasol (who’s been great), and two first round picks. Wasn’t that bad of a deal, especially considering they wanted to be cheap and save money. I don’t think that trade is as dumb as people make it out to be considering Gasol wanted to get out of there anyway.

    I hate to say this, but Mullins will always be a project. Not an NBA player.
