As a college bball fan, it does make me laugh when passes like #5 and #8 are counted as assists (pass, dribble, dribble, post move, shot). But that's just how it is, and Harden had a great game.

I second (third? fourth?) everyone's opinion that Weaver should get PT over Ollie. I like Kyle as a backup PG but I think it's clear at this point that Harden can certainly run the offense when RW needs a breather. Kyle hopefully can get some minutes guarding the other team's PG if he limits turnovers and works on his jumper.

As our old friend Crow pointed out many times last season, Presti and Brooks like to play around with lineups. I wouldn't be surprised to learn (for example) that Ollie is getting minutes as an experiment to discover how well he plays with the others. I fully expect Kyle and Shaun to get fair amounts of minutes if the Thunder happen to be in the playoff hunt during the middle of the season, and like others have pointed out they're both solid backups if someone gets hurt. Otherwise, at least for Kyle there is no reason not to have him in Tulsa.

Good point, DJ White should probably be seeing more minutes out there as well...but I guess that's Brooks conundrum, too little minutes for too many guys who need them.

White needs some playing time. Seeing Collison and Thomas playing together is great, they play good defense and can hit the boards, but when they play with ollie, then Harden and green or harden and durant, are the only ones that can score, white provides scoring in the post off the bench, something Brooks has yet to use at all.

@Keith
You are in no way alone, especially since Harden could run the offense much like Brandon Roy does/did for Portland. It's pretty clear that Harden is the next best playmaker/passer option to run the offense after RW, so why not use his abilities to their utmost when RW is off the floor and slide Harden back over to the 2 when RW comes back...then maybe Thabo can keep up his 35 minute pace at the 3 while Durant and Jeff Green can actually get a breather and not keep up their ridiculous 40+ minutes a game pace.

I wish they would just send Weaver to run the point in Tulsa and let him work on that position. Weaver is such a good defender, if he could just work on his ball handling skills I think he could be an adequate backup.

I don't think you lose much with Weaver over Ollie. Ollie probably understands offense better, and probably doesn't turn the ball over as much as Weaver might at this point in their careers. But I love Weaver's game and would love to see him develop into a backup PG.

I don't know about Shaun anymore. He must just not be able to play the kind of D that we need.

I like ur thinkin there. Ollie plays under control for the most part. As does hardin, the only difference is the opposing defense has to respect hardins outside shot. But they can let ollie shoot outside all day.

I'll admit, I am a bit disappointed we haven't seen Kyle or Shaun play this season. Good things tended to happen when Weaver got minutes last year.

I agree... sort of. What you propose means that you would have to have another gaurd to cover the opposing PG because Harden is likely not quick enough... Weaver would be capable.

Thabo will probably need to play 35 minutes on Kobe tonight anyway, so Harden could backup both spots.

I 2nd that, but I'd like to see Shaun get some PT tonight as well.
