Saturday Morning Cartoons: Russell Westbrook is a good dunker

(Happy sunrise DTers. Have some coffee and instead of reading the paper, how about watching some moving pictures on the Internet? Soooooooound good?)

Is there anyone better in the league that can take an ordinary, ho-hum dunk and turn it into an impressive finish than Russell Westbrook. As you watch this top 10 dunks from this season, notice how plain and simple some of these are, but how cool they look because he cocked his arm back just a little farther or maybe yanked on the rim real hard after he flushed it through the net. And landing in a squat with your arms out is always a nice touch.

(Bonus cartoon: A quick minute and a half interview with Westbrook on campus at UCLA. Somewhat interesting.)

I figure there's no harm in at least trying. The worst that can happen is he says no because he refuses to believe there's anyone worth talking to here. The best that can happen is he says yes and you show him we're not all Trabers.

@Lefty
I'm thinking about asking. I bet it won't happen, but I think I might try anyway.

@Royce

I also feel like I just want this whole thing to be overwith, but how fun would it be if you could get your truehoop connections to get an interview with Simmons about this whole thing? It might be good for him to come in contact with someone like you to get another perspective on this issue, ala our new friend EJ. I don't know if it could happen, but it could be real interesting.

Haha, just read the article on the sportsguy33's twitter about his experience at the 2004 draft. Great stuff there.

I like this little gem: "8:43 -- Thank God ... the Sonics just took Robert Swift, the high school center who looks like a cross between Fred Weis and Eric Montross. Of course, the Celtics loved him. Talk about dodging a bullet. Any time someone is avoiding workouts, all-star games, even interviews ... is this ever a good sign? Now he gets to be tutored by the likes of Jerome James, Vitaly Potapenko and Cal Booth. Can somebody have "downside"?"

Thanks, Traber, for stealing away a little bit of OKC's legitimacy. What a fool!

With that said, I like dunk #3--Birdman expecting a block, and Westbrook flushing it anyway. Brilliant.

@Alex
I saw that as well.

It made me happy and sad at the same time. Now Simmons is taking shots at us because of Traber's stupidity. I am so over this whole dumb thing.

sportsguy33: Note to unpopular, low-IQ sports radio bully/hosts in non-Top40 markets: I'd never come on your show to bring you attention. Ever. Not ever.

He is so fun to watch. I love the top 3. I is crazy that he had to work on being able to dunk, and now he jumps out of the gym.
