er... you said defensive rebounds per minute, pace adjusted so never mind on the last part.

If you want to discuss this further I'll check for you over there.

Since you asked a direct question, I'll make an exception and respond. Yes DSMok1 I am the same Crow as at APBRmetrics. Previously I was Mountain, Mark and Jambalaya. I changed names for different reasons (they are just screen names) and unified them recently for simplicity. Put the post totals together I am in an essentially deadheat for the most prolific poster at the site considered by the home of quantitative basketball analysis. If any want to check out my thinking about basketball analytics further there are over 2600 of my posts there. And I just do this is in my spare time whereas the insiders get paid big to do it presumably all day, all week.

Defensive rebounds do definitively end an offensive possession and are the most common ending. Wonder if defensive rebounding per possession is much weaker and how much weaker...

Nice work Royce. And cheers to DSMok1 for the link to NBAstuffer - I'm a bit ashamed to say I've never even heard of that site before.

Crow, are you the one posting over on APBR metrics, also? I'd have posted in response to your defensive efficiency analysis, but I don't have a login (and apparently, it takes quite a while to get one set up--I'm in process). I ran correlation/r^2 coefficients for just about every stat to see what seemed to help with defensive efficiency... Interestingly, defensive rebounds per minute, pace adjusted, correlate better with defensive efficiency than anything else except eFG% allowed, with an r^2 of 0.62...

Well that's great. I've used NBA Stuffer before, but I never noticed that. Would have saved me some time looking that crap up on my own.

One would think that the guys who set the odds on basketball games would have access to those kids of stat splits.
