Vegas Game 5: Open Thread

Dallas Mavericks (0-4) vs. Oklahoma City Thunder (0-4)
Time: 3 p.m. CST
Dallas roster

Somebody is walking out of Las Vegas with a win. Though it doesn’t matter one bit, I’d like for it to be us. It’s never fun to go defeated. Last night against Chicago, OKC turned the ball over a ton and didn’t shoot all that well. James Harden was great once again, but Kyle Weaver played rather poorly at point guard and nobody else really contributed all that much. I assume Shaun Livingston will play today since he sat yesterday, but we’ll have to wait and see.

Who do the Mavs got?
RODDY BEAUBOIS vs. BYRON MULLENS. What a vengeance match. But seriously, I am excited to watch Beaubois in action. Not because I wish OKC had him, but just because he’s been pretty good in the Summer League. Also, the Mavs have a familiar face on their roster – one Mickael Gelabale. A couple Big 12 faces in Curtis Jerrels and former Kansas Jayhawk Aaron Miles and Shan Foster from Vanderbilt, one of the best shooters I’ve ever seen in college.

This is your last chance to see your Thunder in action for about about three months. So take heed and root on your team. Tip at 3 p.m. CST.

    @Chris
    Which one are you watching? The “real” one or the free one?

    FYI, a recap will be up a little later than usual tonight. I’ve got to head out to do something right after the game ends, so the recap will be up later.

    Not a whole lot of excitement for this game, eh? We went from almost 200 comments down to four.

    I dont understand the Chris Paul trade thing… Every player (save Kobe because of his unique no trade clause) can be traded. It’s a possibility for any and all of them. So what’s the big deal about him saying that? He didnt request a trade or say he was getting traded. He just stated that it’s a possibility. Course for some reason now… he’s lying about it… weird.

    re: chris paul – we want players (especially seemingly nice guys like him) to be regular guys, but this is a business. he’s a multi-million dollar businessman, and he ran his mouth about his company too much, apparently. this is the reality.

    Just FYI it seems that the thread for the recap of game 5 and just general vegas musings is not working. There isn’t a “read more” button and at least I can’t access the rest of the report. A little help por favor?

    WNBA coming to Tulsa? They should call them the “Lightning”. Thunder and Lighting!

    @Gar
    Tampa Bay’s NHL team is called the Lightning, so that one is taken.

  1. No trackbacks yet.
