Vegas Game 3: Open Thread

Oklahoma City Thunder (0-2) vs. San Antonio Spurs (2-0)

Game three of five for OKC in Vegas. James Harden was awesome Tuesday night against the Lakers, as were Kyle Weaver’s defensive skills. Tonight, for the love of Congo, snap out of it Serge Ibaka and play like you did in Orlando. I was really fired up about the thought of Ibaka being good enough to not only make the roster, but also maybe seeing some meaningful playing time. But he just hasn’t played well thus far in Vegas.

Who do the Spurs got?
A couple guys to watch tonight for the Spurs: George Hill is easily their best player, but DeJuan Blair is who I’m most interested to see play. It was surprising to see him slip into the second round, and I always like to see how guys do that we passed on. Malik Hairston is a quality scorer and James Gist was a good college player at Maryland and a decent player overseas. The Spurs also have Jack McClinton, a guy that can light the gym on fire if he gets going.

Also, Kevin Durant has said he’s going to be in the house tonight, so these guys better turn it up a notch for KD. You don’t want to let down The Durantula.

Tip at 7:30 CST.

Yeah Greg, I think Vaden clearly has shown that if you give him the minutes, he will produce.

Ibaka had a strong game, as did DJ. Kyle had 6 turns. Lord Byron needs a lot of coaching.

Wow.. Vaden just drained a 26 footer. Four 3's from him tonight.

The Jazz just matched for Millsap.

James :
Just got here and with the link I’m not finding an 8:30 Eastern game anywhere or a Thunder game in the list. Am I missing something?

It was there, I clicked on it at least 5 times. Then I refreshed the ATDHE page and it was gone.....

Wish Roby could get some run. He was pretty good for CU the when I first moved to Colorado. He is really versatile, can handle the point even-maybe not at the next level though. Pretty good shooter, good rebounder. Had to play a lot of different positions for CU. Oh well.

Wow Serge has 6 offensive boards! 3-10 shooting though. Wish I could watch this game.

Wow, Blair just owned Byron. Yet another shocker.

Serge just drove in and tried a finger roll and botched. Looked to me like he had an opportunity to throw it down, but chose the layup for whatever reason.

Wow Ibaka has 5 rebounds all of them offensive.

DJ, automatic mid-range game.. buries another.

Wow. Somehow with 3.5 seconds left Weaver in-bounded the ball, progressed to the frontcourt and connected on a Devon Hardin alley oop as time expired. 22-15 Thundies, the Spurs look awful. They turn it over even more than we do.

@Joe
Can you link the box please

McCleod already in, I don't think Harden will be playing tonight. Hopefully I'm wrong though.

@Joe
Correct. Harden hasn't been in yet, they mentioned something about his availability but I didn't catch it all.

I don't even see the game listed?

Vaden just hit a 22 footer, and a three-pointer to start the game. Both surprises to me.

According to the box score, Vaden got the start.

@Dooney
Me too...I guess Greg will have to do play by play.

Byron with another really nice assist to Kyle for a trey-bomb.

Very impressive, BJ just passed up a wide open 18 footer (shocker) to feed Serge down low for a great look.

uhhm....Im getting black screen. Anyone else getting it?

Blair really has trimmed down.. he could lose another 30 lbs if he wanted to, and he'd still dominate Serge on the block.

Wow.. this guy is grrrrrrrreat to listen to.

Malik Hairston from Oregon. Yeah baby.

I predict Blair will get no less than 1 rebound for every two minutes of playing time. Who is going to stop him on the Thunder squad? We've got a collection of pick and poppers with DJ and Lord Byron. Only Ibaka can save us the humiliation of a 15 or 18 rebound performance by the man child from Pitt.

@ATR
I just read something about him. I think he broke a bone in his back. He was rehabbing it now and is playing for the Bucks in Vegas in the summer league.

Asked before, but probably got buried or I missed the answer. What ever happened to Chris Richard. Didn't he play for tulsa? Did we see all we needed there and have no interest in him playing for us now? Thought he was pretty decent, but haven't seen much of him since college. Any info?

Steve H.... How many sooners are playing in the summer league besides the griffins?

A Cowboys fan that can read?

How come on the rosters Marcus Dove is from Unknown? Did a sooner right that up?
