Vegas Game 2: Open Thread

Oklahoma City Thunder (0-1) vs. Los Angeles Lakers (2-1)
Time: 7:30 CST

After that disaster Sunday night against Memphis, let’s hope for a slightly better effort tonight. No Russell Westbrook this evening for Oklahoma City, but everybody else should be good to go. I’d like to see James Harden assert himself a little more in the offense and hopefully Serge Ibaka plays a little more like he did in Orlando.

The team was clearly tired Sunday night after five games in five days and then a trip cross country. If anything, you just want to to see them get their legs back under them and compete. Wins don’t matter one bit in Summer League, but getting better sure does. And going through games half-way doesn’t get you any better.

Also Oklahomans that prefer orange may take more interest in this game than most as it could feature three former Cowboys: Marcus Dove playing for the Thunder and Terrel Harris and David Monds for the Lakers.

Of course the shots that I am thinking of came with Livingston at the point and not Westbrook. Quick drive and kick to the open man in stride. As opposed to drive into a triple team and then try to throw it to anyone you can when the defense has already rotated to them.

I don't think that we will see Harden getting as many one on one offensive looks during the season as this game. I would hope not, because that means that the rest of the team is standing and watching. I liked his ability to get some shots, but like the look of his spot up shot much better!

Sure, It's at the bottom of this page....it doesn't seem to be working yet, but hopefully any second now it will clean itself up.

@Joe
hey thanks man, got to see the give away... at least.

do you guys know where the link is for the clippers game? i'd like to watch blake a little bit

I think DJ got his bell rung.

He had hands like feet tonight and just showed no sort of intensity.

Mullens with a nice game...I'd like to see a few more boards though

Mullins with 10 points, 5 boards and 5 BLOCKS!

Have to wonder when Mullens and White have fewer rebounds than Harden and Weaver

Harden really had a Brandon Roy-like stat line tonight...23/5/5

i know it doesn't matter, but it frustrates me that we gave away the game

Way to give away the game late!!!

David :
btw, i wish i could watch hardens performance right now, it looks like he is going berserk

log on using the link at the top of the post and catch the end. We are all watching it for free.

otherwise they suck big time

They make a good point about Harden defending the point

these announcers are HORRIBLE. especially compared to the amazingness that was dante and galante

This guy is a joke, is really trying to say Kobe is better than MICHAEL JORDAN?!?! No one is that stupid.

Mullens still has butter fingers

Wow, Byron showing some more athleticism with yet another block. Fifth of the game.

@Royce
42 is pretty amazing, but don't you have to be kind of worried if you're the Warriors that he only got 3 rebounds the entire game?

shooting 80%... am i reading that right?

btw, i wish i could watch hardens performance right now, it looks like he is going berserk

@Royce
holy crap. i kinda want to buy the nba.com thing just so i can go back and see that

Anthony Randolph with 42 for the Warriors tonight. Wow.

@Joe
yeah, everyone seems really reasonable. like i said i have been reading since pretty much just before the draft, and i have never seen anyone getting angry and saying stupid things. those people are for the birds.

you guys are cool...

Anyone think orlando is sending gortat our way in december?

Ibaka hasn't looked like the Ibaka in Orlando. Kind of dissapointing.

@David

Welcome David. Nobody bites here, we just bark sometimes. :O)

@Joe
yeah, if vaden can do that more than once a week it would be great

Harden to Vaden for Threeeeeee.

Hey guys i'm new on here, i have been reading all of your conversations for a couple of weeks now. and i gotta say, i feel like a stalker since you don't know i exist and i feel like i know some of your personalities to the extent possible so i thought i would introduce myself... haha.

I'm not very knowledgeable about the NBA, but i'm learning alot. so thanks guys. i'll be popping in my 2 cents every now and then from now on i suppose...

better then paying i suppose

Harden is looking good
based on what i can see from the shitty feed

Holy Harden, James is on fire! 17 now.

Ok, Morrison just drove on Weaver.

The feed is working! Go go go!

Gotta love the stats so far

@Wilson
That's what it said. But I wouldn't read too much into it. Griffin and Jordon killed LA inside last night. And they completely ran away with the game early.

Yeah, Harden has been AWESOME in the first half. 8 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds and a steal.

Harden 4-6, Weaver 3-5, White 4-5, Mullens 4-6. Very efficient offensively so far.

Weaver ran a lot of point in the second quarter, but for the most part it's Livingston.

Ha...they did leave off the Thunder logo....pigs.

Man LA shooting 80%+ from 3 and we still lead by 4, we are shooting 65% from the field, DJ playing well too, nice looking performance right now.

Royce, who is running the point?

Dude is that really Byrons stat line??? Interesting
