[...] Royce of Daily Thunder: “Awesome win for OKC and we all know Dallas will say it’s on them and they weren’t ready and there’s nobody to blame but themselves but the fact is, the Thunder kicked their butt. They wanted it more. Four straight offensive rebounds in the first quarter says it all. OKC scrapped and Dallas didn’t. Like I said, they were going to go ahead and play the game regardless of who the Thunder had suiting up. And evidently, Dallas didn’t get that memo.” And Royce is right. As much as the Mavs would like to make this entirely Mavs-centric, you’ve gotta appreciate just how much better OKC was on both ends of the court. I’d definitely argue that the Mavs played quite a hand in their own demise, but nights like those aren’t possible without the Thunder stepping up big-time.
That game was so much fun. I have to hand it to Krstic. I've been on his case for his 2 inch vertical, and his lack of athleticism in going after the boards, but tonight he was outstanding. You can see why he was considered for the allstar game when he played with the Nets a few years back. Imagine doing similar to that on a nightly basis. Great job Nenad, you deserve some Kudos.

Westbrook didn't force anything tonight. Yes, he still shot about 30%, but that's usual for him. His shot selection will improve, his mechanics will improve, the timing of his shot will improve, and next year he'll be closer to 40% than 30%. But when I say he didn't force anything, I mean he let the offense play itself out. He didn't force the ball to a certain guy when he wasn't open. He didn't take things into his own hands, he was patient, and he valued the basketball. Kudos Westbrook.

@Mike. As far as I can tell, we're the only blog who refers to Kevin Durant as Kid Delicious and Russell Westbrook as Jet-Zero too. What can I say... we're into nicknames around here.

No LeBron gets the credit for christening Jeff Green as Uncle Jeff. It's maybe the best nickname ever.

Was that Uncle Jeff thing going around OKC before LeBron brought it up at the Rookie-Sophmore game? I had never heard that before that night.

Great win last night, this Thunder team is really coming around.

So who do we draft now if we don't get #1? Say we get to...Are we going after Rubio or a big man in Monroe?

Or do we get a shooter in Harden?

Ideal draft is this:
#1 pick get Blake Griffin

then trade up to get Willie Warren...

BAM...Ideal...but highly unlikely...

Having been a Mavs fan before the Thunder came to town, last night was bittersweet. But the days when the Big 3 was Dirk, Nash and Michael Finley are long gone for Dallas. I couldn't help but think last night about how the Thunder remind me of Dallas' situation in the early part of this decade when they were just learning how to win - back when they had lost to the Lakers 3 zillion straight times. I remember one game - probably the 2002 season - where they had something like a 30-point lead going into the fourth and the Lakers came back to win. It made me think of how many leads we've lost this year.

The one thing that troubles me a bit is the smattering of talk about whether the next best player after Kid Delicious is Uncle Jeff or Jet Zero. I don't think you can compare the two, but we're darned lucky to have both.
